The hotel was built by Knight Ferdinand Kriegelstein von Sternfeld, a member of the magisterial aristocracy in the town of Cheb. The family owned the house till 1862. Then, in 1904 - 1905, A.Weiss, its later owner, had it rebuilt to its present appearance, which was designed by Arnold Haymann, a Viennese architect. In this place, Josef Dobrovsky, a Czech historian and philologist, met J. W. The original classic building of Nove Lazne from the years 1827 - 28, built at the end of life of the abbot Reitenberger according to projects of Josef Esch, was completely rebuilt in the style of monumental neo-Renaissance according to the project of the architect Josef Schafer, a native of the place. The project was designed as a luxurious building for notable guests. The investor of the original building and reconstruction was the Tepel monastery.
The exclusive attraction for spa guests was to bathe in the Roman spa and the bubble bath in the Royal cabin used even by King Edward VII.Spa Hotel Nove Lazne is the largest and the most beautiful building from the point of view of its architecture, from its very beginning was the balneal centre of the town. Centralni lazne was founded at the beginning of the 19th century. The original building has been renovated and extended several times. It got its current appearance through the complete rebuilding carried out by the architect Josef Schaffer during the years 1889 - 1892 and paid for by the Tepel monastery, which was the owner of the building. The coat-of-arms of the abbot Clements is located on the facade. Spa Hotel Centralni lazne is located close to the spa colonnade with its singing fountain. According to one version, it was built by Anton Haberzettl, the administrator of wells, in 1852 - 1853, according to the second version it was built by Doctor of Medicine (Dr.Med.) The original name Telegraf was changed around 1900 upon the overall rebuilding of the hotel to its present appearance, to Grand Hotel Ott (it used to be the property of the hotel keeper Caspar Ott, a native of Cheb).The hotel offers 109 guest rooms.
