Pictures is situated in a quiet residential area of Oudtshoorn close to the town centre and close to major tourist attractions. The Ostrich feather palace, Foster's Manor, was the only one to be established as a charming Bed and Breakfast. The Manor was declared a national monument in 1974 and was restored to its former glory. The Great British sandstone architect, Charles Bullock, was the creater of the building - his original plans and documents are displayed in the breakfast room of the Manor. J.Foster, a local attorney, instructed Bullock to design a double storey mansion for him. Foster called this mansion 'Rus in Urbe', formally known as Foster's Folly- later renamed Foster's Manor. We, Agnes (Manager) and Kahreema (Assistant Manager) hope that we will have the pleasure of making your acquaintance real soon. The Manor has 8 rooms, the character of which is a blend of the old and new. Every room has an en suite bathroom where one can relax in a French slipper bath. You can also enjoy a drink while watching television. A stay in the manor's honeymoon suite will be the crowning glory of your honeymoon! The spacious interiors have been individually furnished with authentic collector's pieces from the early 1900s. All rooms are fitted with mini-bars, facilities for making coffee and tea, and TVs (available channels - SABC1, 2 and 3, M-Net). In summer (December, January and February) breakfast can be served outside on the 'stoep' and one can enjoy the tranquil surroundings and fresh Karoo air. Although we do not serve dinner at the manor we can make dinner reservations for you at excellent nearby restaurants.

Just 20 kilometers from the main N12 road from Beaufort West to Oudtshoorn on a very good gravel road and just 40 kilometers from Oudtshoorn itself, the farm offers a place to relax, unwind and get away from it all, or can serve as a wonderful springboard for exploring the area. Only an hour's drive in the other direction lie George, the sea and the Garden Route. Lucern (Alfalfa) and a Dorper sheep stud are the main focus of the farming enterprise Our accommodation is perfect for a family vacation of 6 adults & children. The Blue room is a double bed room with a full bathroom. The Black and Tan room has two twin beds and a shower, toilet and basin bathroom. Guests can choose to self-cater, bed and breakfast or be treated to dinner, bed and breakfast. Meal prices on request. The guesthouse has good cell phone reception but does not have a television.
