The National Civil Rights Museum and Mud Island are two miles away, the Memphis Music Hall of Fame is three miles away, and Graceland is 13 miles from the hotel. The 14-story Memphis landmark has been an institution in town since 1925. A social and business hub, the Peabody is the site of debutante balls and charitable events. Hotel amenities include the four onsite restaurants, ranging from deli style to fine dining at Chez Philippe, a four-star restaurant. The hotel's Athletic Club features an indoor pool, a weight room, treadmills, bicycles, a sauna, Jacuzzi, and tanning facilities. There is a full-service spa and salon on site for massages, aromatherapy, hair styling, manicures, pedicures, and facials. The hotel also offers a business center. The Peabody is the site of the world-famous ducks, who spend part of every day swimming in the Grand Lobby fountain. The mallards are raised by a local farmer and friend of the hotel. They live in the lavish Duck Palace on the Plantation Roof. Every day at 11am, they are led by the Duckmaster down the elevator to the Italian Travertine marble fountain in the Grand Lobby. Red carpet is unrolled and the ducks march through crowds of admiring spectators to the tunes of John Philip Sousa. The fanfare is repeated at 5pm when the ducks retire to their rooftop palace. All rooms feature antique-style furniture, sitting areas with tables and two armchairs, wireless Internet access, two telephones, minibars, irons and ironing boards, and hairdryers. Valet Parking is available at 21.00 per day and Garage Parking available at 16.00 per day.
