Descending from the camp down the magnificent Hell's Kloof, through one of the most pristine sections of yellow wood forest filled with bird life, past secret and special places the trail drops 400 meters through a kaleidoscope of terrain down to the fish eagle dam is a moderately difficult assent back to base. THE OOM PAULS BACKPACKERS TRAIL. This trail is moderately difficult 2 day backpackers trail dropping from Bermanzi into the Bankspruit and then ascending and crossing the Skurwerand, through the sandstone maze to the Bobbejaans Krans camp, returning on the second day along the rim of the Elands river Gorge down into the Bankspruit canyon at the foot of the Brides leap Falls along the river and ascending again to the Bermanzi camp.
