MyPond Hotel is an exciting, newly built hotel on the banks of the Kowie River, in Port Alfred. The car park is dominated by a 10m high Queen Palm, and the entrance by a welcoming waterfall feature. You can already feel this is somewhere a little special. he climate is temperate, and during the 2nd World War the Royal Air Force built 5 pilot training schools in the area as they felt that it had the best weather in the Empire suited to training. The emphasis of the accommodation is on comfortable, and affordable, luxury, with stunning, very roomy (approx 50 m²), river-view Suites and practical (approx 25 m²) Classic Rooms. There are many touches that will simply make you say ?Wow?, from the electronic Do Not Disturb signs to the LED lit light switches, to help you find them in the dark. All hot water, the swimming pool and air-conditioning is heated/cooled using innovative and very environ-friendly geothermal (heat from the earth) technology ? a first for South Africa. Also a vast majority of lighting is low wattage energy saving globes. The vibrant Etare restaurant and stunning 60 seater Conference Centre, both opening out onto the banks of the river, add to the hotel get-away-from-it-all feel. All three meals are served on a á la Carte basis, and there is a fully stocked bar. Conferences and Weddings are professionally arranged to accommodate both small parties and those up to a maximum of 120 persons. The entire hotel can also be available to being booked out for longer periods by either Conference or Wedding Parties at reduced rates. The rooms are all en-suite, air-conditioned, with LCD televisions (10 satellite channels), telephones, universal plug points, Safe, fridge and tea/coffee facilities. The Suites are equipped with I-Pod docking station radios, heated towel rails and sleeper couches. There is disabled access to all our rooms (via lift) and a full disabled toilet in our lobby. We have two designer Golf Courses nearby, a very active air training school and miles of unspoilt beaches, where even in the busy times, you may not see another soul. We would be delighted to organize days out (boating, game-viewing, golf, birding, hiking and horse riding). With sufficient notice we are able to organize airport transfers. There is a host of activities from kite-surfing to scuba-diving, fishing, world class surfing, golf, bowls, croquet, historical trails, museums, indoor pool, malls, self drive game viewing ... or you can just relax.

Ideal for family holidays, weekend getaways, and overnight stays. Sip sun downers on the patio while the surf crashes down in front of your unit. There is good fishing off the piers, the river or from the beach only 30 meters away. Superb blue flag swimming beach and surfing beaches are at your front door. There is a beachfront restaurant; sports bar, ice cream cafe and nightclub close by. Port Alfred has most major shops and amenities, and a new shopping mall and private hospital. Please note that you must bring your own beach and bath towels or hire from us if you forget.
