The Elephant House is a small exclusive lodge only minutes away from the Addo Elephant Park. Situated on a beautiful race horse stud and surrounded by rolling lawns and indigenous trees this is the perfect place to return to after a hot day in the bush. The lodge, with its thatched roof, wide verandas and exceptional service is reminiscent of the old colonial safari experience. The antiques, superior fabrics and the owner's private collection of Africana art gives on the feeling of cosseted luxury. The eight luxury rooms are all individually decorated and guarantee that the guest has a truly relaxing experience. Four rooms are twin bedded and four rooms are queen bedded. Experience Africa when staying at Chrislin African Lodge in traditionally built mud huts located on an eco-friendly farm, just 12km from the main gate of the Addo Elephant National Park. Each hut is traditionally built with mud and dung, and offers spacious and comfortable eco-friendly accommodation. All Standard and Luxury huts have en-suite bathrooms (with shower, basin and toilet), tea & coffee making facilities, ceiling fans, alarm clock/radios and hair dryers. Bydand is situated on a working citrus farm in the heart of the Sundays River Valley close to the Addo Elephant National Park. Accomodation is in comfortable, tastefully furnished en-suite double or twin bedded rooms overlooking the orchards. All rooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans. Guests are free to walk about as they wish, or to simply laze on a lounger next to the pool. For the more adventurous there are quad-bike tours of the farm - including a river crossing! Quad-bike, or Landrover tours of a nearby private game farm can also be arranged. There are a number of game reserves close to Bydand includaing Schotia Safaris and Amakhala. Our five luxury chalets are found on a working citrus farm only 4 km away from the main gate of the Addo Elephant National Park. Although rain is prevalent in summer, we are a Malaria free area. Chalets are elegantly decorated and equipped with air-conditioners with a heating option. All the bedside tables and headboards are made from a combination of local wood species found in the area, like Yellow Wood, Oak, Sneeze Wood, and Black Wood. The Sneeze Wood chandeliers found throughout the chalets and in the Lapa are made out of old fence posts that were in use a few years ago, and are termite prufe! Bathrooms are en suite and have indoor and outdoor showers to suit your needs. There are also procupine quills lamp shades found in the bathrooms and the lapa which were handmade by the owner.
