Corstorphine House has 8 rooms each with ensuites bathroom and 1 room with private bathroom. Art Deco room is a largest room in the House measuring 64 square meters. It has exquisite views over the Estate, down Caversham Valley beyond Carisbrook and the City to Otago Harbour and the surrounding hills. It has the sun from mid morning until sunset. Egyptian room is an old master bedroom of the 1863 part of the House and features a very large king-sized bed and Egyptian/African themes. The view from the bed encompasses Mount Flagstaff, down town Dunedin and various suburbs, Carisbrook, Mount Cargill and Otago Harbour. French room overlooks the Rose Garden and forest beyond. It has been decorated in fresh yellow colours and features a king-sized four poster bed and antique English fireplace. The Room itself is in the new (1907) part of the House; the en suite bathroom, with the same colour d?cor, is in the old (1863) part & The lobby to the French Room features an old church window and church pew. Both the bedroom and the bathroom get all the morning sun and views of the rose garden, Conservatory and orchard. Indian room is a special in that the black and gold bath is situated on a dais in the bedroom itself. A hand painted screen is provided for the more modest guest. The room is decorated with Indian motifs in exotic greens, reds and gold; the bed is canopied in luxurious swags of fabric in these colours. Dainty antique chairs and a writing desk offset the solid brass elephant which graces the apartment. Japanese Room Tastefully decorated in a Japanese theme with very soothing colours; this room uses the basic principles of Japanese simplicity to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Moroccan room has one double and one single bed and a private bathroom just across the corridor. The decor is in rich orange, blue and burgundy, romantically draped and with a number of fabulous carpets on the floor and walls. The window faces west so the soft evening sun warms the room and makes it glow. Scandinavian room has been decorated in a variety of blue colours. The old wooden floor (made of North American timber, imported to New Zealand in the late 1850s) has a blue shine, the walls are blue and even some of the furniture has a blue veil. The room features an antique European pine writing cabinet and a king-sized two poster bed. Scottish room is located on the ground floor overlooking our gardens, the harbour and the city. This sunny room is lavishly decorated in a Scottish theme and includes a carved writing bureau, oak sideboard and a large comfortable settee. The room has a large king-size bed, a large-screen television and a video. Romantic features at Corstorphine House include the Fountain lawn, the potage garden with statute, the Rose Garden, the fern gully pond, the Gazebo and other spots.
