The hotel, which began life as the home of Michael Monks in 1814, was immaculately restored and refurbished in 1991 with every modern facility whilst retaining the country house atmosphere. The new development at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel opened in late 2005. The hotel now offers 40 executive bedrooms and 12 two bed aparthotels. A new conference and banqueting room will also be added to the hotel's existing facilities. Plans are also afoot to have the hotel's existing facilities upgraded over the coming months.
