Open from January through April, the Hotel de Glace is completely redesigned each year by talented ice sculptors out of nothing but tons of ice and snow, and is located on the shores of Lake St. Joseph, approximately 30 minutes from Quebec City. Hotel amenities include 36 rooms and theme suites, a Nordic relaxation area with outside spas and sauna, heated dressing rooms and bathrooms, the Ice Bar with live entertainment and where cocktail are served in an ice glass, the Ice Cafe where flavoured coffee are served, an ice slide for young and old alike, unique ice sculptures and artwork, multilingual staff, and a 24-hour front desk. There are many activities available in the surrounding area of the Hotel de Glace, including: Snow shoeing, cross country skiing, ice skating, sliding and hiking trails, dog sledding, a Nordic Spa and much more. The restaurant of the Auberge Duchesnay is also on the same site as the Hotel de Glace. All the beds have a solid ice base, with a wooden bedspring and mattress on top. Guest rooms feature a cozy arctic sleeping bag, atop fur pelt-covered beds, wake-up service, and bathrobes.
