Facing the sea, the ringing bells of the Santa Rita Church add an aural beauty to that of the water. The Lodge, located on the Plaza of Sta. Rita, is a restored old market dated from the coffee boom era, when coffee (called the black gold) was imported abroad from the port of Paraty. The stone and wood used on the restoration process are from the colonial times and from the collapsed walls arose a lovely lodge whose architecture maintains traces of an ancient era.
